My mother grew up in Hazard and then moved away for many years.Her name is Polly Eversole.She is now living in Hazard again.My granfather was William(Billy) Eversole.My grandmother was Callie Eversole.My great-granfather was Bud Eversole.He ran for Assesor of Perry County in 1917.I do not know if he became assesor or not.Anyone with info about my family please email me and let me know.Pictures would be great too.I would love to learn more about my family.Thanks. I was born in 1955 in the Vicco area (Allock). We moved away when I was in the 4th grade. I've been back several times, and am still homesick for the mountains even after all these years.My mother is Princess G.Rudd and my dad Carl Rudd was a coal miner for the Carrs Fork Coal Co. for many years. My brothers and sister (Harold Griffin, Mavis Griffin and Jerry Rudd) went to Dilce Combs High and I went to Vicco Elementary and Robert W. Combs Elementary until we moved in 1966. Just found this site recently. I think it is great, every community should have one. I have been searching for family from Perry County. The only info I can say is that Dolly (maiden name) Sizemore had twins November 1965 in Hazard and they were put up for adoption. Virginia & Bradley B Sizemore. At that time, Dolly may have been in her 30's or 40's (not sure). Every town, city and village should have a website like this! I remember playing at the old Perry Bowl back in the mid to late 60's The band was called The Outcasts out of Ashland, KY. I even remember those round platforms we had to stand on when we played. A lot of partying up at the Citadel too. Anyone remember us, please gimme a holler!
