Vivian Couch Baker 15:03:47 3/02/2001

Hello. This is my first visit to this website. I am very much interested in communicating with anyone from the Pigeon Roost area that could tell me anything about either my mother or father. My mother was Cyntha Combs, daughter of Killus and Fanny Combs, she had two brothers, Farmer and John. John drove a taxi, was married and killed himself, but I don't know where he drove the taxi or the date of his death. Farmer married, moved to Indiana and passed away in l969. Her sisters were Nora and Edna. She also had a brother, Estil, that was a jailer in Hazard, again I don't know the dates. My mother passed away in l96l. My father was the son of Granny Deb Couch, a midwife. I know very little about my father's family. He had sisters, Lett, Jet, Mary, Martha and Sarah. The only brother I know of was named Henry. I was born and raised in Indiana, so I know very little about Pigeon Roost or Hazard but am very interested in finding out about these areas and the family names. Thank you so much.

Just late today heard that an old friend of many years, Kenny McDaniel, had passed away. Have many fond memories of growing up with Kenny and his brothers and sisters, good neighbors and good friends, and good memories of growing up on Liberty St. I posted on Memorial Site but for some reason it is not found there. Just wanted to say goodbye to an old friend. Ida Lee Hansel
