The Blue Diamond commissary & the old (Y) (on the left of the photo) featured a pool room and movie theater at Blue Diamond, KY. The photo was taken in the late '30's or early '40's. A boarding house was located on the right of the tennis court, while the miner's bath house was located at the back of the "Y." "Us boys use to sneak in and take showers in the summer time as there were not many company houses with plumbing," remembers Charles Fields. The commissary was razed 29 years ago this week.
