Goodloe Napier Jr., a former Perry Countian, died recently. He grew up on Napier Hollow at First Creek and played basketball for First Creek High School in the 1940s. Napier later worked for Blue Diamond Coal Company and became a federal mine inspector. His office was located in Airport Gardens. After he retired, Goodloe moved to Lexington.

"Thank You for the tribute to my father.  It is hard to believe that he is gone especially with me at only 26 years old.  Goodloe was very proud of where he was from and held high regard for all those friends that he made along the way in the Hazard area. I must say though that the man was never really able to retire as he was still raising me in his later stages of life." Goodloe Napier III,  Lexington, KY   gzn3@aol.com
